The association

The operations for Leader Skåne Mitt Nordväst are based on public, private, and non-profit actors coming together around a development strategy that has been developed in dialogue through broad democratic processes. The strategy will be used to guide the board's work with prioritization and selection of applications, as well as communication and other development work in the area. All projects applying for support are assessed against the strategy's focus areas and goals.

Our vision

”In Leader Skåne Mitt Nordväst, we have a countryside that carries what is

required to meet the demands placed on sustainable, vibrant, and resourceful rural areas”

Four goals

We are working towards four goals, which together will contribute to making the area even more attractive. With the goals as a starting point and Leader as a functioning method, we want to highlight and support initiatives to create local and sustainable growth in the countryside:

  1. An inclusive countryside – with creative and cross-border meeting places and networks
  2. Growth – through balanced resource management for businesses and green industries
  3. Attractive experiences – with nature and culture in sustainable balance
  4. Communication development – for accessibility and competence in our rural areas

Three focus areas

  1. Resource management for sustainability
  2. Local attractiveness
  3. Communication development

Program period 2023-2027

In the program period 2023-2027 Sweden has chosen to apply Leader through the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (Ejflu). The goals within the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development are formulated in three general goals:

  • Promote a smart, resilient, and diversified agricultural sector for food security.
  • Support environmental care and climate actions and contribute to the union's environmental and climate-related goals.
  • Improve the socio-economic structure in rural areas.

The general goals will be achieved through the following specific goals, where the role of the Leader measure is to develop the countryside by:

Promoting employment, growth, social inclusion, and local development in rural areas, including the bioeconomy and sustainable forestry.

Since the strategy's focus should reflect the needs identified in the area, other specific goals within the fund may also be relevant. The strategy should also strive in all its parts for the overarching principles that apply within the EU. This concerns fundamental rights and accessibility, but also sustainable development.

Projects can, for example, contribute to

Efforts aimed at reduced climate impact

New methods, working methods, or processes For example, new production processes, new logistics solutions, or new organizational forms
