Leader Skåne My Northwest includes 13 Skåne municipalities – from Bjäre Peninsula to the central Skåne countryside – and the challenges surrounding vacant houses vary between the municipalities. Despite the variations, we know that there are houses that stand empty in large parts of the area, which is something that can affect both safety, attractiveness, and local development.
Through the project Find Home in Mid Northwest we want to highlight these houses as a resource and opportunity for the municipalities to utilize. But even when the will is there, it can be difficult to know how the work should actually be carried out in practice. Where does one start? Who is responsible? And what working methods are effective?
With this webinar, we want to contribute with inspiration, concrete examples, and ideas that can help more municipalities in the area to get started – or further develop – their work with vacant houses.
During the webinar, representatives from Tingsryd municipality and Lessebo municipality will share their experiences of working with the vacant house issue. They are two neighboring municipalities that have both made investments in vacant houses, but in different ways – one in project form and the other by integrating the work into their regular operations.
You will hear about how their work started, what they have actually done, what challenges they have encountered, and what lessons they carry with them today.
The purpose of the webinar is for you to gain:
- Inspiration from other municipalities
- Concrete ideas to test in your own operations
- A clear sense of what your next step could be
There will also be room for reflection, questions, and joint discussion.
For whom? The webinar is primarily aimed at officials and politicians in Leader Skåne Mitt Nordväst's 13 municipalities, who are active in areas such as community planning, housing supply, supervision, crime prevention work, or local development. That said, curious officials and politicians from other municipalities are of course also welcome.
