Ransvik's historical bathing place

Ransvik's beach and the old coffee cottage are a historical and very well-visited place located in Kullaberg's nature reserve. However, facilities and functions are neglected. The walking path from Mölle is in poor condition, and difficult to hike as one occasionally needs to pull oneself up with a rope. There is no possibility for recycling/waste sorting at the bathing area. The bathing area is not accessible for those with reduced function, and the existing outdoor toilet lacks access to water.

All of this, along with unclear communication, directional signs, etc., and complicated parking regulations, makes the area around Ransvik's beach outdated and unwelcoming.

We want in the project

• To make the place accessible with a stair lift down from the parking lot
• To conduct a feasibility study and permit application for a ramp down to the sea
• To inventory and make prioritized measures on the path from Mölle
• To offer hikers and bathers the opportunity to sort waste at the parking/entrance
• To create a reception at the parking with directional signs
• To establish a test period and investigation of possibilities for a mobile toilet solution

What happens after the project period? 

After the project period, the operator at the site, (Ransvik Havsveranda) together with the county administrative board, will be responsible both financially and practically for the maintenance and operation of the stair lift and recycling solution. An agreement regarding this will be established. The county administrative board has the basis for continued work to further make the place accessible, an application for a ramp to the sea is in progress. The path to Mölle has been inventoried and if/when increased funding for the county administrative board is available, work can continue as needed to improve the path. The municipality and the county administrative board together will find a solution to practically and financially offer visitors a water toilet at the site together. An application for long-term placement is pending with the nature unit. The improvement of the path has reduced car traffic to the site and there are more available parking spaces for those who really need a car, which means that more can visit the place. Funding and references further improve the possibility for more efficient parking.
