activity arena ljungavallen

Ljungavallen is being developed with a pétanque court, a motor skills course, and an outdoor gym to create more opportunities for movement, community, and activities for all ages.

About the project

”By creating activities that are accessible to everyone, we want to make Ljungavallen a natural meeting place where community, movement, and joy of life bring people together across generations and backgrounds.”

Ljungavallen has long been an important meeting place in the community, and the association life has historically had great significance for community, cohesion, and development. Through this project, we want to strengthen Ljungavallen's role as an open and welcoming activity arena where people of all ages and different backgrounds can meet, move, and feel involved.

The project aims to create more opportunities for spontaneous activity and movement by establishing an outdoor gym, a pétanque court, and a motor skills course. The facilities will be easily accessible and designed to suit as many as possible. The outdoor gym will consist of eight stations, several of which are adapted for people with disabilities. The pétanque court will be equipped with hardened walkways for good accessibility, and the motor skills course offers various types of balance and movement challenges suitable for both children and adults.

The goal is to develop Ljungavallen into an attractive meeting place that attracts more groups than today's football players and contributes to increased physical activity, community, and safety in the area. By creating a place where people meet across generational and cultural boundaries, the project also aims to promote integration and strengthen the sense of belonging in the community.

The association actively works for inclusion, diversity, and equality, where everyone is welcome regardless of age, background, or circumstances. The project builds on previous experiences of creating positive encounters between people and will contribute to a long-term viable operation that strengthens both the association and the community as a whole.

”When children, youth, adults, and seniors can meet around activity and community, we not only create better public health but also a stronger and more cohesive society.”
