When the processing for obtaining EU support is delayed, the Swedish civil society across the country is disadvantaged. This is the view of representatives from the National Organization Hela Sverige ska leva, the Archipelago Association, and Local Development Sweden.
Long processing times threaten the achievement of goals for EU support that is to be distributed to Sweden's rural areas according to the Leader method. In total, it concerns 1.7 billion kronor that is to be distributed over the years 2023-2027. The idea is to generate development projects that are prioritized based on local needs – with the voluntary engagement as an accelerator.
