Local Development Sweden is the interest association for organizations that work with rural development through the leader method
Local Development Sweden is a resource for promoting and driving issues regarding the leader method from a national and international perspective, as well as for influencing organizations, authorities, and decision-making bodies.
Local Development Sweden will also work to increase knowledge exchange between leader organizations.
The board of Local Development Sweden consists of twelve members. Four members from each region north, central, and south.
The operations manager is Christer Yrjas.

Resource funds from the Government Offices
Local Development Sweden is currently developing goals and an implementation plan for the extra funds we received from the Government Offices for the period 2025-2027
Workshop with the Swedish Board of Agriculture on streamlining the work with project and investment support
On March 20, the working committee for Local Development Sweden met with the Swedish Board of Agriculture for a dialogue about streamlining the processing.

Knowledge bank for evaluations from the Leader period 2014-2020
Leader does so many good things – and we know that there are various evaluations conducted around the country that show the impact of leader and the leader methodology. We will gather the evaluations that exist and compile them alongside the national evaluation conducted in 2023 by the company WSP AB on behalf of the Swedish Board of Agriculture:

Dialogue meeting Whole Sweden Shall Live
On April 8, the working committee for Local Development Sweden had a dialogue meeting with Erik Eriksson and Terese Bengard at Whole Sweden Shall Live discussing what is happening in our organizations and what we can do together. Among other things, LUS wants to take an active part in the Rural Parliament taking place in Skellefteå from May 29 to 31, 2026.

The board of LUS will have its next meeting on April 30 (the last Wednesday of each month).
