Saturday, June 13 8 curious window enthusiasts gathered at Klåverödsgården on Söderåsen, for a four-hour long workshop in window renovation. The leader for the day was Anna Tengberg, a window renovator with over 20 years of experience. With skilled hands, she guided the participants in her workshop, where we shared space with windows, doors, and glass that Anna has saved over the years.
The participants learned about the different aspects of window renovation – from removing glass to cutting and glazing. Everyone had windows at home in need of renovation, and sought out the workshop to learn more about how to do it in the best way.
The workshop was organized as part of our project Find Home in My Northwest, with the aim of raising awareness about sustainable renovation of abandoned houses. Buying an abandoned house is really just the beginning. After that, many years of work with will, effort, and perseverance await to transform the house into a home. Therefore, we want to help people get started by conveying useful knowledge. We also want to convey that they are not alone in their dream and belief that a wreck is something worth preserving, but share it with many. This workshop is a small part of that work, and we thank Anna Tengberg for an interesting and fun afternoon.
