How can empty houses become new homes and contribute to vibrant rural areas?
On Tuesday, December 8, project manager Pernilla Björverud will visit the Adult Education Association Malmö to talk about our project Find Home in My Northwest
During the evening, Pernilla will explain why the issue of vacant houses is important, how the project works, and why empty houses can be a valuable resource for our rural areas.
You will hear about why houses are left empty, what challenges can make it difficult to take care of them, and what consequences this has for the community. We will also discuss the work of mapping vacant houses, matching houses with new owners, and increasing knowledge about old houses, building preservation, and sustainable renovation.
The lecture is aimed at both those who dream of buying and renovating an old house, and those who know of, own, or perhaps live next to a vacant house. An evening about houses, history, hope for the future, and the opportunities that exist when we make use of the resources that are already around us.
