Renovation of old windows – workshop

Learn to renovate old windows in this practical workshop on June 13, organized within our project Find Home in My Northwest. It is free of charge but with a limited number of places.

Welcome to a practical and educational workshop in window restoration! During four hours, you will gain both theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience in how to take care of and restore older windows. The workshop is led by window craftsman Anna Tengberg, who has many years of experience in both the craft and in leading courses and workshops in it.

The workshop begins with a short theoretical overview of the history of the window, wood quality, the development of metal, and the history of window glass.

After that, we will work practically and participants will get to try all the steps in the renovation of a window (except for wood repair). Participants will get to try:

  • Assessing a window's renovation needs
  • Removing the window glass
  • Scraping
  • Treatment of metal
  • Cutting and installing glass
  • Painting
  • Trimming glass

Location, tools, and materials are included. You are welcome to bring your own window frame to work with; otherwise, it will be provided on site. We also offer refreshments!
