During four sunny days in the beginning of May, we, three managing directors from LEADER-regions located between Hamburg, Kiel and L\u00fcbeck (Schleswig-Holstein\/Germany) had a really inspiring study trip to Sk\u00e5ne. There, we visited the LEADER-regions \u00d6stra Sk\u00e5ne, Sk\u00e5ne Mitt Nordv\u00e4st and S\u00f6dersl\u00e4tt.<\/p>\n
The idea behind our trip was the fact, that we thought it was time to look across our national border, since LEADER is a European programme. Further, Sk\u00e5ne and Schleswig-Holstein have many things in common, for example the location near the Baltic Sea, natural and cultural aspects and parts of our medieval history. So, why not talking to each other and learning from each other?<\/p>\n
Our lovely Swedish colleagues showed us a wide range of interesting LEADER-projects, concerning the development of touristic sites, little villages and natural areas as well as working with social subjects. We also discovered the varied landscape of Sk\u00e5ne, from \u01fahus to S\u00f6der\u00e5sens nationalpark up to Sweden's most southern point. Last, but not least, we got an impression of the Swedish culture. Among other things, we appreciated very much the barbecue at Sk\u00e4ralid, the fika-breaks and the several dishes with their regional flavour.<\/p>\n
During our visit we discovered many parallels to our work, but also several differences. We were impressed to meet so many engaged people and to see how the LEADER method in Sweden is practiced.<\/p>\n
Now we are back at home, with a treasure box full of inspiration and new ideas for our work with LEADER in Germany.<\/p>\n
We thank our dear Swedish colleagues so much for having organized a great programme for us and having guided us around in their regions. We hope to meet again soon to continue our exchange and maybe developing some interesting activities together!<\/p>\n
